Bio

Born in Peru. Based in Brooklyn.

I was born in Peru and moved to the U.S. when I was six. For as long as I can remember, I always had a notebook with me, doodling whatever came to mind.

That eventually turned into graffiti through my high school years, and somewhere along the way, graffiti turned into tattooing. I guess I’ve always wanted to leave a mark on something.

I’ve been tattooing for over a decade now. It’s taken me around the world, introduced me to people I never would’ve met otherwise, and given me a life I don’t think the kid in this photo could’ve imagined.

None of it happens without my parents and grandparents taking a leap and giving us the opportunity to build a life here. As an immigrant, I’m incredibly grateful for the way it all unfolded and for the family that made it possible. Shoutout to the fam.

Tattooing is still home for me, but Bryan Gee Studio is a place for everything that happens around it. Tattoos, drawings, objects, experiments, old ideas worth revisiting, and new ones I haven’t figured out yet.

Mostly, I’m just trying to keep making things I think that kid would’ve thought were cool.

Aftercare

Healing starts when you leave the studio.

Your tattoo will spend a lifetime on your skin, and proper aftercare is one of the biggest factors in how well it heals and ages. These are the same steps I recommend to every client.

Every client receives a complimentary aftercare package after their appointment.

01

Wash gently

Wash your tattoo morning and evening using a mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water.

Use only your fingertips — never scrub the tattoo.

02

Dry properly

Pat the area dry with a clean paper towel or allow it to air dry. Avoid bath towels, as they can harbor bacteria.

Wait about 10–15 minutes before applying moisturizer.

03

Moisturize

Using clean hands, apply a very thin layer of the balm from your aftercare package. Less is more.

Your tattoo should feel moisturized — not greasy. If it looks shiny or feels heavy, you're using too much.

Apply a thin layer after each wash and whenever the tattoo feels dry. Most people find this ends up being about 2–3 times per day.

04

Let it heal

During the healing process, your tattoo may peel, flake, itch, or appear slightly cloudy. This is completely normal.

Do not pick, scratch, or peel the skin.

05

Protect your tattoo

For approximately 2–3 weeks, avoid:

  • Swimming
  • Hot tubs
  • Saunas
  • Direct sunlight
  • Scratching or picking

Once your tattoo is fully healed, wearing sunscreen whenever it's exposed will help preserve the detail and keep it looking its best for years to come.

FAQ

Common questions

01

How to prepare for your appointment

What should I do the day before?+
Get a full night's sleep and drink plenty of water. Well-rested, hydrated skin takes ink better and makes for an easier session. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand.
Should I eat before I come in?+
Yes. Have a real meal within a couple of hours of your appointment. Sessions can run long, and low blood sugar is the most common reason someone starts feeling faint.
What should I wear?+
Wear something comfortable that gives easy access to the placement area, and that you don't mind getting ink on. Loose layers are better than anything tight over the area being tattooed.
Can I bring someone with me?+
One guest is fine. Let me know ahead of time so I can plan the space.
What should I bring?+
A valid photo ID, headphones, snacks, and anything that makes a long sitting more comfortable. Most days run several hours, so settle in.
Is there anything I should avoid?+
Avoid alcohol and sunburn in the days leading up to your appointment. If you're on medication that thins your blood, mention it when you book.
02

Care after your appointment

Is it normal for my tattoo to peel?+
Yes. Light peeling and flaking are a normal part of the healing process. Let the skin come off naturally — don't pick or peel it.
My tattoo is itchy. Can I scratch it?+
Itching is completely normal, but avoid scratching. If it feels dry, apply a thin layer of balm from your aftercare package instead.
How often should I moisturize?+
Apply a thin layer after each wash and whenever the tattoo feels dry. Remember — less is more. Your tattoo should feel moisturized, not greasy.
Can I work out?+
Light exercise is generally fine, but avoid activities that cause excessive rubbing, heavy sweating, or direct contact with the tattoo during the first couple of weeks.
Can I swim?+
Avoid swimming pools, oceans, lakes, hot tubs, and saunas until your tattoo is fully healed.
When can I go in the sun?+
Keep your healing tattoo out of direct sunlight. Once it's fully healed, regularly applying sunscreen will help preserve the detail and keep it looking its best.
My tattoo looks cloudy. Is something wrong?+
Probably not. Tattoos often go through a cloudy or "milky" stage while healing. This is completely normal and will clear up as the skin finishes healing.
What if I have a question or something doesn't seem right?+
Reach out. I'd always rather answer a quick question than have you guess.
